Well when I am inside the car I can hear a little knock from the engine, two days ago it was a little worst than what I normally hear, I think I have seen a tsb for engine knocking on the 02 gt but anyways I am just thinking is this normal for a 4.6l and if not what can fix it, is the tsb actually working ?

Could you give a little more info. about your motor? Any mods not listed, and how many miles? Did the knock develop suddenly or has it always knocked a little bit (you say when you're inside, but has it always done that?)

Also.. what weight oil do you run?

Like sgarlic said, more info needed. When does it do this? All the time? Only when cold? Hot too? Under heavy load or light load? Both? Is it a heavy knock or a light rapping?

More info is defintely required. However, if it IS detonation, then better gas may help...

Well there is no mod on the motor except a k&n air filter and a magnapack, anyways mods are in the sig btw But the knock is not loud or anything, its just a little knock, and it happens sometimes, it doesn't matter what wheater it is, hot or cold, its just a little weird, I use synthetic oil only, mobile and whatever whats the dealer suggest for it, I do my oil changes every 6000kms(around 4500miles) anyways you guys think I should go with higher octane, or maybe just a tune, I dunno, the car didn't lost power or anything doh.

Is it normal for the 4.6L v8 to knock, do they almost all do it, and is the tsb working for it, I've send it to the dealer and thats what they told me that its normal to have a knock on the 4.6 and the tsb didn't work so I'm just wondering if they are saying is true.

I sometimes think I have a knock.. but I'm assuming that if I think I have one, I probably don't. When I have the windows all rolled up and no A/c or radio, i can sometimes hear a ticking noise thats very faint. It seems to be there sometimes, and others it seems to be gone. I run premium because I feel safe that way, though this still occurs. I ran some seafoam and it didn't change much in the way of the noise.

Maybe you can relate to this.. or maybe its jsut in my head

Well is about the same for me, but now it seems like I heard it a little more than before, I heard it when the windows are down, anyways its not really a problem yet but I just dont want it to become worst.

Btw what engine oil do you guys recommend, I use mobile 1 syn, the last one was made by ford with there own brand of synthetic, also like to know whats a good filter to go with it, thanks again.

Seems like its coming from the engine, when I press on the gas at idle you can here the knocking going a little quicker, when I drive the car I cant hear it because of the wind and magnapacks, I can only hear it at idle, its not very loud.

when my engine was knocking it wasnt real loud but noticable whenever & whereever i drove...my car didnt seem to lose too much whenever i drove i was thinking it was just a tick, but after a few weeks my car started acting funny w/ my dash lights & also died on me a few times...if i were you & didnt know much about engines id take it to a performance shop & let professionals look at it...or if you know anybody who is good w/ cars have them give you some advice

I believe your OK my 04 with only 5000 miles has this flutter at 3/4 throttle or at least at wot the exhaust and engine is so loud I cant hear. Its done it from day one and I think it the air flow going through the intake, but I could be wrong.Mine does not sound metallic, but like a sheet flopping in the wind. As long as you got power and no smoke or fire then your
