Engine Noise at full gas

Hey Everybody,
I've been experiencing an odd noise with my 05 GT and would really appreciate some help with it. If I drive along and have my foot off the gas completely, and then really hammer it hard (full gas) I get a clicking sound that sounds like valve click or something for the first second of having the pedal down and then after that first second the sound goes away. I can then take my foot off the gas, put it back down, and get the clicking sound again for another second. Any ideas on what this is? It's obviously when the car is under a heavy torque load. Is this a normal noise to be hearing or should I be worried about it? Any help would be very much appreciated.

The engine may be pinging.
See if different brands of gas eliminate it.
If no luck, then try higher octane gas.
If still no good and your car has a modded tune, then retard the timing a degree at a time until the pinging goes away.

I think i know what your talking about, mine does a little ticking at high rpms's(not pinging)
