I've got a chance to buy an 4.6L engine from a Panther chassis(Towncar I believe) for $50. The guy say it's out of a running car that came in with the rear half trashed. Will this motor, or block and heads mainly, bolt into my car? I plan on useing it for a long term build-up project. Should I grab it up?
Thank Guys

For $50 bucks....I would. At least you can take your time and build the motor then put it in your ride, and you don't have a car sitting there with no motor. Just make sure the motor look ok.

I assume that the Towncar is still rear wheel drive. Just be careful and make sure its not a 4.6 for a front wheel drive car, there was a guy on here about a year ago with a 4.6 from a front wheel drive Lincoln and he had all sorts of problems trying to get it to go into a Mustang (motor mount points that had not been tapped, also something about a different bell housing size for the transmission, etc.)
