Hey guys,

I am getting ready to remove my engine and i already drained the oil and coolant but i never relieved the fuel pressure.

How neccessary is it to relieve the fuel pressure before removing the engine?

I hope don't need to get all new oil just to start the car and relieve the fuel pressure.

thanks

I'm not an expert or nothin' but I would just let it sit for an hour or to...let the pressure relieve itself. Just my .02. If its a carb, you shouldn't have much pressure.

If you are that worried, remove the cap from the schrader valve behhind the alternator. Then depress the valve core with a nail or small screwdriver. Watch out that the fuel doesn't squirt in your face. If it doesn't squirt, it's because the pressure has already bled down.
