Has any one ever heard/have any info on swapping a 4.6/281 with a 5.8/351? I have been interested in doing this to my vehicle, but I couldn't find any info on it.
Well, most likely you will haveto go with a carbed setup. All I can tell you is to take all the underhood wiring out. Drop in a 5.8L and wire it all custom. MSD ignitions, run new custom fuel lines/pump. Decide weather to keep the gas tank or go fuel cell. Not too many people do this....most now are doing modswaps. (Modular motors in fox bodies.)
I would think you could do it using the parts from a 5.0L SN95 Mustang: K-member, motor mounts, bellhousing, etc. Assuming you're talking about a 351 Windsor, it's the same as a 302 but with a taller deck height. Ford did it in 1995 with the Cobra R. No need for carb or homemade intake & exhaust at all.
I am talking about a 351 windsor. I want to go carb with it. Just curios. I did notice that they put in in a saleen s351 as well. I just wanted to know if it was possible and if it was what all was involved. Do you think that I would have any clearance problems with a stock hood.

I can't say for sure, but the '95 R used a taller hood for clearance, so I doubt a stock hood would work without lowering the engine mounting position. I have read where people installing a 5.4L use spacers to lower the k-member, effectively lowering the engine in the chassis. They then use a set of lowering springs to restore proper ride height, at the expense of suspension travel. I think the '00 Cobra R did exactly that from the factory.

no dropping of the k-member with a 2v 5.4 swap. Adapter plates and PI intake fits under the stock hood with a tiny clearance of the hood subframe. The new HPS 5.4 intake will clear a stock hood.
Dropping the k-member about .4" makes a 4v 5.4 swap a lot easier to deal with. If you use spacers to drop the k-member the tranny mount needs to be dropped too but a bit less. Correct application of trigonometry will determine the tranny mount drop for your trans.
