PO removed some of the smog and EGR stuff kind of half arsed. I'm getting code 84 for the EVR, I went to check it, and its gone. The vacuum line goes from the EGR valve directly to the manifold vacuum, which I'm guessing is definitely not the way it should work.

AT this point, should I get a EGR delete plate and remove the valve? What about the CEL? This is on a 91 5.0 if it matters....

THX

I was thinking that, but now I need to find a EVR solenoid....NOT spending 50 clams for a new one

The car should not idle (and CERTAINLY not well) if there is manifold vacuum on the EGR valve at all times.

If it idles just fine, the passages are likely clogged or the EGR valve itself doesn't function properly.

Then the EGR valve or exhaust circuit isn't functioning properly. When totally healthy, it will stall a car or bring the idle to near stalling.
