When I go onto the track, the steering feels fine. During the practice session, the steering good but when I come off the track, the steering wheel has more play than normal. 30 minute later, it seems to be fine again. Is that a problem with the seals in the rack, the pump itself, or just the fluid needs to be flushed.

Are you still running the factory rag joint? It may be getting excessively warm and loosening up on you.

You need a steering pump cooler. That is what happens when your fluid gets to hot and why the Cobra models have the finned cooler.

I guess if all that doesn't solve it there is a rubber isolator right above your rag joint that tends to wear out. But I couldn't see that getting better over time so I'd look towards the fluid explanation more.

I think it's the rag joint in the steering shaft..
