So I recently acquired an 04 Mustang, 3.9 V6. I know, I know, should have saved for the GT, but, sadly it just wasn't in the budget. I just can't afford to be passed around the insurance company like bubbas bitch. Besides, I'm happy with the 6. Its relatively quick (as opposed to my old 99 sebring... \o/), and its a 5 speed which is always a plus.

First things first:
I know its not a fast car, and I have no intentions of treating it as such. I won't rice it out, or anything like that. So, please fight back your inner douchebag and don't waste time telling me not to rice it and that "OMG U SHUD HAVE GOTS TEH V8 OMGGG V6 WOMANNNNNNNN". Ok? Ok.

Well, now that thats out of the way, a few of the things I have full intentions of doing would be to get rid of that ugly single exhaust pipe out the back and replace it with some good sounding duals. I have no idea what to look for here, because I really don't know what makes what sound. Is there any site or anything that compares sounds or anything like that? Or maybe if those of you out there that have a good sounding exhaust post a vid (with the V6, of course. Unless they sound similar?) so I can see (or hear, I guess) some different sounds. For clarification, I want a really deep, fairly loud, and somewhat raspy sound. Any help here is great.

Secondly, I want to put on a T-lok differential, simply because I feel that any rear-drive sports car should have both rear wheels turning, as opposed to the one-wheel-peel type thing. Any ideas here? A ford racing one runs around $190 on StangSuspension.com. Any place cheaper or anything better? I figure since I'm pretty low on the HP end that I shouldn't have too much to worry about in breaking one or anything, right?

Thanks a ton for the help.

First off there is nothing loud and raspy for the V6 unless you build it. I have the Flowmaster catback and I like it. It is somewhat throtty but clean sounding like a stock V8. As for you t-lock it isn't needed unless you get high HP like with a procharger but try Tom's differential he is on line and has great prices and should have what ever you want for that 7.5" rear diff. Hope this helps

I would go with GT dual exhaust ( cat back exhaust cut off of a GT ) , and weld in some magnaflows or flowmasters with an welded in H pipe. Get on youtube , thiers a ton of exhaust clips with diffrent combo's

As for gears I agree with you. Get some 7.5" 3.73's with a ford racing Tlok. Just remember the most expensive part of the swap will be the handheld tuner needed to correct your speedo for the correct differential gear. Hope this helps , and you could check out www.gefracing.com as they sell all the things you would need!

Nice V6ing!

be sure to get a h-pipe! That will help to get closer to a GT. As for gears, get 4:10... I really wish I got 4:10. My friends got 4:10 and he loves them! They do make a BIG differece!

Do you happen to a video of your exhaust? Thats the setup I would like to get but I can't see dropping 521 bucks on a v6 cat back. It would def have to sound good. I am pondering getting the summit cat back just cause its the cheapest one I have seen. This is my gas saving beater car but I want it to sound good and be in good shape but not spend tons of money on it
