Ok I have a chance to get a custom 3" off road x pipe going into 3'" dynomax bullets with dumps (probably going to weld on tails later on though) for REALLY cheap. Anyway...
I've been debating whether this is going to be too big or not and if my low end will suffer...
Here's my future combo:

347 Stroker Shortblock
JE Custom Forged Flat Top racing pistons (11 comp on 58cc head i believe)
AFR 185s (out of the box or ported, depends on what i find or any other 58cc head)
Heavily Ported Typhoon Upper/Lower Intake
Ultradyne Custom ground cam 565/585 lift
3.73 gears
MAC 1 3/4" longtubes with the exhaust setup i just posted up top
you think my low end is going to suffer too much with the loss of back pressure?
will going to a 1 5/8" help compensate for the loss of back pressure?
let me know because i have a package deal for really cheap for the intake and the exhaust together which is why im so interested in it.
I keep getting mixed opinions about how much power I will lose down low...
Keep in mind, I'm most likely not going boosted anytime soon or running nitrous (i might though) so basically base this on this motor N/A. I figure, that with 3.73 gears , and considering the torque a 347 makes, losing a little down low will help traction on street tires to increase my 60ft. since the top end will be simply insane.
I appreciate the help and opinions...
Thanks!!

I bet you lose a little down low and gain a good bit up top. Probably not ideal but hey, if the price is right grab it. You'll probably like what it does for you in the upper range. You should be able to spin that motor pretty high.

I'd say go for it....even if you lose a little bottom end, you've got a good enough flow up top that if you have the coin for some forced induction, then you'll already be set in the exhaust department. Also, if you've already got a mid pipe you like, mate the 3 inch exhausts up to the 2.5 H or X....it'll sound meaner than hell and will flow better than a 2.5 exhaust, and you won't notice any loss of power.
