I've had my jba lts and or h pipe on for about 7 months now and I'm really not very happy with the performance of my car. It feels sluggish at low rpms, it sounds tinny in high rpms, there has been a constant leak coming from the h pipe since day one no matter how much I try to tighten the clamp. To add insult to injury, if I don't start my car and let it warm up for 10 minutes my check engine light will come on if my rpms stay below 2500 for more than about 15 seconds, meaning, if I'm on the highway cruising at 70 mph, if I go to 5th gear and the car isn't "warmed up" yet it throws the cel. Also the car goes into limp mode if I turn it on and drive it within the first 2 minutes. I still have my stock headers and mid pipe and am seriously considering putting it back on to see what it will sound/perform. I guess my question is, has anyone else been slightly disappointed in gains (or lack thereof) gotten from lts? I think I am going to just order myself a pair of Ford Racing shorties and call it a day. The beast is too loud for my liking anyway, and it pisses the neighbors off if I leave the house after 9pm. Not to mention the horrible drone on the highway. Everyone that hears my car says it sounds mean as hell, but I'm more concerned with how it's performing, and know that it will still sound good AND be drivable if I go back with my stock set up and shorties.
Thanks in advance for any advice

I put some Hooker LTs on mine about 2 weeks ago, had a Bamachips tune emailed to me with the O2 sensors turned off, and I am pleased with the performance. Have you had your computer tuned to compensate for the changes?

On another note, if you decide to sell the H pipe, please keep me in mind Seriously.

if you still have the stock tune and/or o2 eliminator and no had the rear o2's turned off then you will have problems.

Correct me if I am wrong, but aren't the rear O2's just to keep the cats from over heating? I.E. dumping more fuel on them?

From what I've seen that is correct, however the rear O2's are now getting a completely off-the-wall reading and relaying this info back to the ECU. They still need to be turned off.

It sounds like you just need a tune. The check engine light would probably have to do with the O2 sensors.
