Hey guys
I want to get a new exhaust but I need a little help.
Is there an exhaust that doesn't have a loud sound but adds a few horsepwer?
thank you

No, the stock exhaust flows fine. Magnaflow is only a little louder than stock though.

Typically any axle back exhaust system will not add any hp. It's just for sound.

Since you are looking for something a little loader than stock, then I would search for sound clips. Clips may not give the full effect, but it's better than nothing. Here is a sound clip thread.
http://mustangforums.com/m_3563477/mpage_1/key_/tm.htm

IMO the best choices for you, in no particular order are: Ford Racing GTA, Magnaflow, or JBA.

The link should work, but a lot of the clips are missing. Another alternative is youtube.

I was looking for the same thing, a little hp and maybe just a little more sound. As I found out by reading numerous threads, there is very very little to be gained in the hp department even if one were to run the loudest exhaust. Ford did it right for the stock engine for sure.

I bought the FRPP GTA axle back for the sound and it's perfect for an old f**t like me. 4 things I noticed were;

1) The exhaust is a little more deep and throaty with no resonance so common in a lot of the other systems.

2) The tips fill the cut-outs in the rear much better.

3) They are about 10 pounds lighter than the stockers.

4) These are the same axle-backs used on the Shelby mustangs and are street legal so, no problems with the local PD.

That's my $.02

I went w/ Bassani #46075. I tend to think it's low, throaty yet not too obnoxious.

I've heard it in person and it doesn't sound that great to me. It sounds way too quiet . When it's at 6,500 RPMs, it sounds like it should only be at 3,000 RPMs. My buddy was revving it up and I was getting annoyed with him because I thought he was only revving it up to like 3,000 RPMs.

Listing to sound clips again, I think JBAs sound better than FRPP GTA. Maybe because I have JBAs I am being biased. This mustang w/JBAs is the best I have heard.

I've got a slightly used ( 5K miles on it) Magnaflow axle back system I'll sell you. The mufflers are fully polished, double walled tips, never even seen rain. I was going to put it on ebay next week. They are slightly louder than stock, have zero drone and look great. I'm selling them cause I have full exhaust and I'm trying another Muffler system for more noise. PM me if you are interested.

Here is a video of inside the cabin of my car. I have stock H-pipes and JBA axlebacks. The video quality is crappy.

I have the Magnaflow side exhaust, and it sounds great. I mean it really sounds good at idle, and sounds off when I get on it. Also, zero drone in my car. I have Mags on both of my mustangs, and basically thats all I ever get on my stangs.

The other plus is that side exhaust just looks dam good on these models.

Magnaflow side exhaust? Are you talking about the Cervinis kit?

Not that kit. Its a straight side exhaust from Magnafow, and I have a skirt kit from Sherod Custom. I have seen the Cervinis kit, and my pipes are not that small....they are actually round, and I have a side edge on my skirt...Need to get some pics to explain it better.
