Just got done rebuilding the 289. Have a question about exhaust. The engine is all new parts bored .040, hyper flat pistons, Edelbrock Performer combo, Pertronix, Hedman Elite headers, 302 performance built heads, and you get the picture. Here is where you guys come in. Has anyone tried the Jegs/Summit Exhaust kits? I was thinking about putting one of these kits on (less $) with an h pipe and running cutouts with the later addition of electric openers for the ricers! I want a good sound, throaty, you know what I mean. Nothing crazy loud since I'll have the cutouts to get that. Just a good rumble "you know a mustang is coming/going" sound. Are these kits any good? Oh yeah, going 2 1/2 inch exhaust.
Thanks

I have the Summit 2.5 kit. It seems to be a nice system, and fit good. I did go to mangna flow mufflers over the summit turbo's.

Find yourself a good exhaust shop somewhere near you and have them build you a 2.5" system with some magnaflows =) Make sure you get a mandril bent setup, crush bent exhaust is just.... savage.

Just so you all know the Summit system is mandrel bent tubing. So it maintains it's size even at the turns. It's a good system for the price. but thats just my opinion.
