im gonna buy some flowmaster original 40s and the mustang tuning o/r x. so is there any additional piping needed in addition to what the xpipe comes with? my dad was telling me that after the x, you need some piping as well as after the mufflers. is this true?

no, just have an exhaust shop cut out your stock mufflers and weld the flows right into the stock tubing. if they need any additional tubing they will have it at the shop. should just weld right in though.

Yeah, just let an exhaust shop weld in your flows. Best to let them order the flows for you as well to get the right ones and let them make a little cash on the part. After that is done install the x yourself, they will not touch the o/r stuff.

you see, i want 2 1/2" all around. thats from the x all the way to tips. if they just weld in the flows and the x to the stock tubing, there will be parts 2 1/4". i guess ill tell the guys to do the piping. the only thing im afraid of is them bending it wrong and parts not ending up 2 1/2" perfectly. might there be some websites where i can order the piping?

Sure you could order a Flowmaster cat back with the 40s in it and just bolt it up.

Or you could even order raw pipe and bend and weld it yourself if you have the skills and tools.

yea i could do that but unfortunately, i dont have the tools nor the skills lol. i dont want the whole catback, just the pieces of bent tubing needed to connect the x and mufflers. the good thing here in texas is that cops dont care about emissions so shops will do whatever you want, including the removal of cats and o/r instalations.

Well, just let a shop bend it up and install it then. They will not mess it up if they are a good shop.
