I cant seem to get it tight enough to stop the leak. The leak is not bad,and you cant hear or feel it ,however condensation leaks out when the car is first started.

rockyracoom:

Are you sure that the mufflers do not have drain holes? Some do to allow condensate to drip out rather than soak the sound-deadening material or otherwise collect in the mufflers. Just something to look for while you're under the car.

The intermediate pipe has to be nice and parallel to the bottom of the car so that the mufflers and tailpipes are pretty square at the joint. Loosen up the joint (int. pipe/mufflers) and loosen the tailpipe so it can slide front-to-back/back-to-front - might have to loosen the exhaust tips so that the tailpipes can slide more easily. If the flared end is not round, it will leak. If the socket end is not round, it will leak. High temperature RTV sealant can be used here to seal up minor leaks. Use a floor jack to keep the intermediate pipe parallel to the floor of the car and then attach the muffler end to the intermediate pipe. Snug up the flanges evenly (a little on one side, a little on the other, alternating so the flanges are parallel). Don't overtighten or you will bend the backing flange! Once the ball-and-socket joints are snugged up, it is likely that you will have to adjust the exhaust tips because they will not be in the right position.

That should put you in tall corn.
