Exhaust opinions

Hey guys,
This is a request for help. I need exhaust for my new 2002 Mustang GT convertible. it is stock and needs some growl. if anyone could provide me with some suggestions i would apreciate it.

If you're sticking with a stock midpipe, then get some Magnapacks, or some Loudmouth II's . They sound pretty damn good with the stock mid, in my opinion.

off road x-pipe, with slp LM1's if you like it nascar loud or flows 40 series sound good.

I will also suggest magnapacks or even LM1s if you are staying with your stock H. If you plan on getting a different catted mid pipe down the road then go with magnapacks. If you are going to go with an O/R pipe down the road then get normal magnaflows. All three mufflers listed are of a strait thru design.

I had SLP... Too loud and raspy imo. Cant go wrong with Flows and o/r pipe

Ive had Flowmaster 40's and BBK O/R X as my last setup, sounded great at idle and WOT but the popping crackling between shifts and "machine gun" sound when the RPM's were dropping drove me nuts.

I just switched about a month ago to UPR O/R X and SLP LM2 and couldnt be happier. Much more tame than the flows along with a deeper much cleaner sound. Just start listening to as many clips with just as many setups as you can find and make ur judgment based on that, thats what I did.

For a chambered muffler = Mac Flowpaths

Straight though = Magnapacks

X pipe sounds great with either one.

If you like the sound of the LM2's. Then you should buy the dynomax bullet mufflers. They sound the same and look exactly the same. except for the slp's are stainless steel and the dynomax's are aluminized and they are only 40 dollars a piece compared to 100 or more dollars a piece for the slp's.

I have some Magnapacks and I'm probably going to be running a prochamber like I noticed you use. Could you tell me about how loud it is? I'll probably be getting long tubes aswell. I want the car to be loud of course but not so loud that I get pulled over and suchin'.

I have maganflow c/b with o/r x, before and after pipe install in my sig, just to give you an idea, besides what are you looking for, something loud and obnoxious all the time or something fairly mellow until you step on it?

The wifes 02 has Steeda Catback with Bassani x-pipe, with gutted cats, and it sounds incredible. Very deep and loud at WOT.

well i have a 97 GT and all i got on it is some flowmaster 40 series mufflers and it sounds pretty good and not pricy at all...i also watched a lot of videos with the setup just flowmater 40 series mufflers and a o/r H pipe..it will sound real good

The car is noticably loud for sure, but its a whole different exhaust note. Its deep at idle, but wakes up and sounds completely unique thru the borla set-up. It will cost you about $1000 to get this unique sound, if you are going to install it yourself. Like I said its hard to explain, I could bust out the broadcast quality cam and give you a sample. And like I said, I get little to no pop with this set-up and zero drone. If you want something comepletely unique, go with this set-up. Flows like you wouldnt believe. But if you want a nice sound, and save some money go with MAC all the way. Mac has good prices and nice sounding exhaust systems using the pro-chamber. They just wont last you forever.

Ive either had or heard them all. Bassani and Borla are the best without question.

If you are not going to change the stock H pipe get the Borla Stingers since they are louder than my current Bassanis and stock H.
