I have V6 04 mustang and want a good sounding exhaust. Everyone I talk to says go with flowmaster. I've heard that I could put a stock GT exhaust on there and it would still sound great. I am not looking for any extra HP, just a great sound and to remove that one ugly pipe. =P Any suggestions?

Installing GT Take-offs is a good idea for future upgrades. Sound is ok, but not very loud even though it is dual. You can always change out the mufflers later to improve the sound. I had this kind of setup on my old 96 stang and it sound pretty good to me. I used flowmaster 40's.

My current Stang has a custom exhaust system using Flowmaster, but that is a bit costy.

i just had them cut the muffler off and now its rumbly as the unburned gas and moisture makes it pop and crack and rumble. i like how it sounds. i have a 1999 V6, but its all personal opinion. PS my way is cheap too lol

Awesome. Im a noob when it comes to this. You used a stock GT exhaust with the flowmaster Delta 40's? That sounded great and is what I was looking to do to mine.

Yes, got the GT Take-offs for free from another stang owner who changed out his exhaust system. I had a "hole in the wall" muffler shop install it for $75. I didn't think it was loud enough for me, so I got a pair of Flowmaster Delta 40's at a surplus sale for $70. Then got them installed for $50.

You really wanna hear what a stock 3.8 sounds like with no tailpipe and no muffler, coming straight out of the factory Y-pipe? I can show you lol . I have a dumb vid from me driving around back in 2005. Theres a part where I just turn the corner and lay on the gas hard to accelerate. I can cut that part out and post it online. Just like to know where I can upload this to? Any ideas? Something free ?
