I want to put new exhaust on my 70. I see these Shelby systems advertised with resonators and crossflow muffler, has anyone used them? What do they sound like?
Any big problems if I buy the 2-1/4” pipes for my 351 with headers?
Any nuances to hangers and locations?

Thanks in advance.

The sound is excellent, if you're looking for adult decibel levels. And 2.25" is show-correct for a 351W. That's the same size as a 428 exhaust. I have heard this system, the one made by Motive, at Glazier/Nolan. The system uses the stock factory hangers, which are available new. For hooking up the headers, cut a stock H pipe and attach that, like this:

Thanks 2+2. Yes I am looking for adult DBs. Thanks again for the photo, now it looks like I need to buy a H pipe also & thorw 1/2 of it away. The $$ keep adding up.
I'm not too interested in show correct, but if the cost is within $100 I might as well go that way.
Several reatilors have the stock system listed, but I suspect they all come from 1 or 2 vendors.

Thanks again.

There is an H pipe that's supposed to fit headers, tri-y's, etc., but it costs about as much as the stock H-pipe and it sucks. The stock pipe usually fits pretty well, with maybe a tweak on the RH side.

I have a 3 muffler set up with a Dynomax transverse muffler in the rear. This gives silent cruising at 50 mph +. I don't know how much hp it steals.
