what exhaust should i run on my 2002 gt mustang and make it loud but not illeagal in cali. should i replace the mufflers and put in x pipe or replace everything? what brand is the best ?
deff search for this. you will literally get HUNDREDS of the same exact posts as yours. most people will say borla or magnaflow. i have the magnapack catback and i know alot of people that are running MAC or another reputable X pipe and they sound amazing, even on my stock H.
there are a butt-load of exhaust options you can run. most importantly, its all about what you want and screw what everyone else thinks. your question is pretty broad, because there are hundreds of possible combinations. its not all about which one is best, its all opinion.
as far as loud goes, the loudest cat-backs out there are: SLP Loudmouth, Magnaflow MagnaPacks, Borla Stingers are the most popular.
another factor to consider is your mid-pipe. in cali, you're gonna need cats no matter what i assume. remember this: H=rumble, X=nascar. a mid-pipe will have a big affect on how loud your exhaust is. some popular ones are : MAC Pro-chamber, UPR, the three brands i mentioned above all make great quality x-pipes too. there are a lot to choose from.
if you want, you could just get some mufflers welded into your stock tubing. Flows are the most popular from what ive seen. yet another thing to consider is the quality. im not bad-mouthing any particular brand, but the higher quality stuff is made from T-304 stainless steel, ie, it wont rust like aluminum will, but it is heavier than aluminum. i know slp, magnaflow and borla use ss, and i think bassani does too.
elaborate a little bit on what you're looking for. just saying you want a "loud" exhaust is pretty vague. loud compared to what? the stock exhaust? there are plenty of guys on here that have soundclips for you to listen to, even though they usually dont do the set-up justice. if you wanna hear what the slp loudmouth with catted x-pipe sounds like, i have 3 vid link in my sig below. its loud as hell, but a little raspy. let us know more specifically what you want, and im sure there'll be better responses.

yeah you deff want an H. any exhaust sounds like **** on a ricer. !!!! no magnaPACKS sound great on stangs. go on this website and compare different setups with clips of what they sound like www.mustangexhaust.com
