Im tryin to decide what to do about my Mid pipe.
Ive got the stock 4 cat H-pipe on there. (2 cats, 2 pre-cats) ..i think they're cloggin up, i got 104+K on the car.
I've heard bout summits bein worth it for cheaper...by why can' i get a BBK or somethin' for that price.. is it poorly made, prone to leak, ????

Help me pick fella's!

I think the ONLY difference in the Summit pipe is that it doesn't have the protective coating (or made of stainless steel, etc. depending on what brands are compared).

My Summit pipe fit PERFECT and sounds awesome. I just figured I'd buy it since it was cheaper .... then find something high temp to coat it with later on. I might come out cheaper that way. I'm still looking for something good to coat it with to make it last forever ......

I have a upr offroad x. It fit really good because of the 2 peice design. It sounds really good, was about 160.00 shipped. They also have very good customer service, even got a call from them about a month later just to check how everything was working out.

I voted for the Summit H-pipe, but Ive heard nothing but good things about the Dr. Gas X-pipe. Someday I will step up to it, but for now the Summit was within budget.

Pypes X-pipe or another brand on ebay. I really like Summit Racing but ebay is cheaper on the exhaust stuff if you look. I got the catted Pypes X-pipe and am very happy with it. Also, X and H pipes do not sound alike. If you want the traditional muscle car sound stick with the H style mid pipe.

Wait on the mid-pipe right now. Buy LT's and mid-pipe when you have the funds. Ceramic coated LT's that is.

second that.

if you can't wait, get a MAC h-pipe. jet hot coated and bolts right up, no problems.

I'm with Joe and that was my first thought, soooooo
when I saw your post I spoke up.

I went thorugh the same thought process when I went to my current combo.

I was using a Bassani cat x mid pipe with my old shortys. I felt I could sell it and get more money to offset the new lt mid pipe than I could save by having it re-done by the exhaust shop.

Besides ... even if it was the same price, I'd rather have a mid pipe that was made for the combo rather than cobble up the nice Bassani.

Just my way of looking at it I guess

Just remember the Summit pipes are gamble. I wish I had spend $100 more for a Prochamber.

My Summit H went in a lot easier than I thought.........only bad thing that I have heard from Kyle was that the rust out prematurely......for a hundred and change.....I'd buy them again........
