I've got a 96 exploder engine, I've already purchased the balancer and water pump for the explorer... But I went to the yards today, seems they just recycle the bracket.

Even more annoying, they told me if the had it, they'd want $65, meanwhile they get what, $1.50 for it when they recycle it

Anyway, I need to source the bracket and a pws pump, any ideas about alternate models that will provide the compact accessory system.

Maybe someone has this stuff sitting around collecting dust?

D Hearne, any suggestions.

Don

The Explorer/Mountaieer accessory setups were unique unto themselves, the only part of these setups that interchanged with any other vehicles that I know of was the timing cover. You're not clear on what bracket you're talking about either.

All I have right now would be,

96 Explorer timing cover

96 explorer damper, with pulley attached

96 explorer Water Pump and pulley

So I guess i need the Power steering bracket, the Alt bracket, and the tensioners

From what I understand, the accessories bolt directly to the cylinder heads, on the Explorer/Mountaineer and the 94-95 Stang (it would also apply to the 88-93 T-Bird/Cougars as well, the 94-95 Stang setup was borrowed from those applications) I haven't had access to these setups to study them though so I cannot tell you for sure that this is true.

I have all this stuff if you want it . . . brackets, P/S pump, A/C compressor and alternator.

The stuff I have came on an '98 Explorer engine I purchased that I installed in my '70 Mustang. I used a set of '87-'93 Fox-body Mustang brackets, A/C compressor, P/S pump and '94-'95 130-amp alternator on mine, so I don't need them.

I'd sell all of it to you for $200 + shipping, and they should be in pretty good shape.

Let me know . . .

$200 is a bit more than I had planned, are you willing to negotiate?

If so PM me.

I just did a quick search on car-parts.com to find out the lowest prices for the parts; I found an A/C compress for $20 + shipping, an alternator for $20 + shipping, a P/S pump for $20 + shipping, and was unable to find any of the other components there, including the P/S pump reservoir, brackets, idlers, etc., so I looked on E-Bay.

E-Bay didn't have any brackets listed there for 5.0's, but they had a couple listed for 4.0's; the A/C bracket was listed at $25 + shipping and the P/S pump bracket was listed at $35. I think the reservoir is the same between the engines, and the lowest priced one I found was around $20 + $8 shipping.

If you put the figures all together, you have $120 for a mixture of prices for the V-6 and the V-8 as the lowest possible price I could find.

I figure I can make at least 25% more on the brackets listed there, and can probably make 10%-20% on the alternator, P/S pump and A/C compressor, so with that in mind, I'd sell you all the parts I have for $135 + shipping.

I don't know where you're located, but if there are any salvage yards around near you, you might be able to scrounge these parts up yourself for less than this amount, and I would encourage you to do that . . . you might end up with a great deal!

135 + shipping sounds pretty reasonable, I'll pm you and work on some details.

Once all is said and done, I'll get some pics for posterity's sake and post them. Hopefully that'll sastisfy for the future.
