Is this wise to do when getting the diff rebuilt? My friend said it's fine and adds to the holding capacity. I'm gonna buy a rear from some guy for 100 and then find some 3.73s on ebay and then buy a rebuild kit and have it taken somewhere to be redone. Anyone ever heard of this clutch thing?

Do a search. That method is done very often around here with good results.

I did it on mine. I don't really know if it made a difference as I have never before this one driven on a working traction lock. But I will definately burn them both after I changed that.

The factory CSSCSSC makes no sense in the first place. I think the extra clutch is the way to go hands down. Rerally makes that other tire dig into the pavement.
