Has anyone done an f.i. swap into a 72' stang. I'm helping my friend in Atlanta put a 92 f.i. motor in place of the cleveland & was wondering if anyone has run into any obstacles.

Depends what motor you are using. If he is replacing a windsor motor for a cleveland, the bellhousing pattern is different. The cleveland has a bigblock uses a bigblock pattern. Other motor mounts and tranny, I dont see a problem.

swaping an efi 302 or 351w in place of a 351c is a virtual bolt in swap as far as the engine is concerned. it is the 351m that uses a different bellhousing and engine mounts. the wiring is going to be the toughest part of the swap, so best to have the donor car available untill you have the engine in and running right.

We just took out the 351C and put in a 408W in our Pantera and it was no different.

as far as the tranny issue goes we are using the aod that came with the motor. in fact we had the aod in the car already behind the clevland. the crappy fmx gave way so we threw in the aod ahead of schedule. will the oil pump pick up and pan off of an earlier 302 fit the late model 5.0? And correct me if I'm wrong but exhaust flanges on all windsor are the same are they not?
