So,
As some of you know, but probably didn't notice, I am tired of my escort and want a mustang again. I have been looking at 99-02 GT's, but haven't found one yet. This Cobra came up yesterday, and wanted to know what you all think.

This car is ready to be sold! 325 horse, 325 ft/lbs torque, cold air intake, flow master exhaust. Year old tires and rims(saleen replicas). Black leather interior, aftermarket sun roof, after market mp3/cd player, recently rebuilt transmission, new Ford racing clutch, head turner, must sell!

It is a 1996 by the way.

What do you all think? He wants $9000 for it.

They were actually rated at 305hp, but regardless, it looks like a nice car. What's the mileage? I see the guy also put an aftermarket sunroof in it....better check to make sure it doesn't leak.

Looks like tomustangs (old) car.

+1 on checking the sunroof for leaks. Looks pretty good to me, provided it doesn't have a lot of mileage on it. I'd check for rust and run a carfax.

I love 96-98 Cobras, & that ones pretty clean, but Im not diggin the sunroof. They just dont look right on 94 & up Mustangs because of the rounded roofline. Unless you like the sunroof, I would keep looking. I would definately go with a 96-98 Cobra over a 99 & up GT though because the SN95 Cobra is one of the baddest Stangs ever. Good luck

Clean looking car, lower and clean it and you'd have a nice ride. Also, what's with all the hating on a sunroof? I really like it, and it's extremely rare to see one on a stang. I say go for it

Clayton, I think I know this guy that is selling this car. Is he in his early 20's with red hair and just got married not to long ago? If so thats him, I think he took good care of it and is selling it because he got married. I can't think of his name though.

I just dont think it looks good on a rounded roofline & it just looks kinda cheasy. On fox bodys it looks sick because their flat on top.

Besides that the car is clean, Its just a matter of opinion wether or not u like the sunroof.

104,000 miles...I'd fork out a little extra money and buy a 99 or 01 Cobra with less mileage.

I just saw another one today, white, 1996 with 79k miles on it, and owned by a Ford Mechanic. It is closer, and listed at the same price, so I think I will go for the white one first. Hopefully something happens!
I will keep you all posted!
Thanks.
Here is the picture from the ad..hard to see anything. He said the car has been sitting for 3 years basically, and that he never drives it. Interior is all black, new clutch, all maintenance done. Sounds clean!
I'll check it out tomorrow hopefully!

Idk, but for some reason I don't like the stock cobra rims from those years Aside from that, sounds like a clean car. Tell us how it goes

I love the stock 96-97 Cobra rim. They are so pretty. I had them on my 1996 GT. Anyway, thanks for all the advice. I like the sound of the white one more. I will try and go look at it tomorrow. The guy didn't sound all that excited to sell it, I don't blame him, but I hope he is at least a little motivated!

Try for the white one, mileage is too high considering price on the black one.

i would do probably 7500 on the black one at best (i dont like the sunroof mod, the mileage really isnt bad for 11 years old, only means it was driven about 1k a month which would probably make it some1s daily driver) but the white one isnt too bad... i dont like those cobras really either...
