I wanted to see if anyone here has had this problem before and what they did to fix it (check link for pic - under 1993 GT). When I first bought the car almost six years ago, it had the gap from the fender to door. It never really bothered me and the average person wouldn't notice it unless I told/showed him/her. Now that I'm thinking about painting the car and all the mods to come, it pisses me off to look at it. I remember almost not buying the car because of it, but everything else about the car was what I wanted. Anyways, the guy I bought it from mentioned something about a shop jacking the car in the wrong spot. I figured it could be fixed but never cared about it until now. I just want to know if there is anything I can try before taking it to a body shop and probably spending a lot of money. Check out the link for the pictures. I've asked about this a long time ago, someone said to get new bushings for the door, however the door doesn't sag and it opens and closes perfectly, you can see in the pictures that the door alignment is fine. The floor under the car looks fine, doesn't appear to be dented in. Here's the link......

This is a common problem, and like you said, it is usually caused by jacking up the car in the wrong spot. Luckily, it is usually and easy fix. Under the car at the bottom portion of the fender, the fender is attached with a 8mm / 5/16th bolt. The bolt is covered up by part of the plastic inner fender liner, so you will need to loosen it some so you can get at the bolt. Try loosening the bolt, many times the fender will straighten itself right out, then just tighten the bolt back up. Sometimes the bottom edge of the fender is bent up, you might need to straigten it all out first with some channel locks or pliers. Good luck

Thanks man, I will give it a try tomorrow. I really hope it turns out to be an easy fix. I can't stand looking at it everytime I get into my car or when washing it.

Mine stuck out a little and it was caused by a jack being in the wrong spot, I hammered the floor down a little and loosened the small bolt you can see when you open the door and the bolt underneath and it went right into place.

The bolt you can see when opening the door, is that at the top, above the latch? I think I located the bolt underneath, it was just barely covered by the fender liner plastic basically at the end of the liner going towards the back of the car, is this right? I will give it a try tomorrow.
