A fendermount is better. The "shortram" sucks up hot air from the radiator and headers, I'd rather run the stock airbox. Actually the stock air box with the silencer removed and a K&N air filter works just as well as a CAI, it is a CAI system actually.
Alot hotter than that. When I first got my water temp. gauge I had to get a different adapter and I had the probe sitting where the airbox would sit but on the oppisite side and when I was driving along it was registering 160* sitting in traffic. That could make quite a difference espically when launching from a stop.
Just think about it... In side the engine conpartment with the real hot exhaust and intake... Or in the fenderwell where there really is nothing thats hot ..just air...
