I'd keep the sheet metal and the color original, swap in a nice set of wheels, and upgrade various parts of the car slowly while still being able to drive it and enjoy the experience.

Well her paint is pretty flat so she deserves a paint job anyways

I'd do the paint job in the original color and striping. I'd just tuck the original wheels away and put some nice aggressive rim / tire combo on it (like posted above by Andy). Maybe Long Tube Headers, H-pipe, Mufflers, bigger Carb, etc. Tuck all the stock stuff away so if you ever sell it you can put that stuff back on. You'll get far less if you change the color and chuck all the OEM stuff that came with it. In fact if you want to make a quick profit just PM a price and I'll take it off your hands if it's reasonable. You're only 3-4 miles away from me.

Actually it is originally maroon. So the previous owner already painted it blue. And for the record I wouldnt have kept maroon either. I am going to do a few thing to her but keep all the original parts and do only things that can be put back.

You should hit me up some time maybe we can go to the towers with laserred and me

I haven't been to Towers since all of us met up there back in 2002. It was the first time I met a bunch of people on here.

In fact this is the picture I have from that night (see below). We all went to Quarter Deck for Dinner and beer afterwards. On the way home my radiator cooling fan caught fire and burned up. I was on the Turnpike going way too fast to keep the car cool. As soon as I got off and hit the first light she got hot. I pulled over a few times. Had a buddy see me on the side of the road come and hang out with me until the car cooled down. We got to the next light, I pulled over, we sat for another 15 minutes for it to cool down. It was like 1:30AM before I made it home.
