I am about to get some more gas since it seems low and its still on stands in the front. What I have done was the gt40 off the 2000 explorer. While I was at it I installed a fuel pressure gauge and adjustable regulator.
When I try to start it I the car only tries to run. It turns a few times with no starter like its choked out and dies. I pulled the #1 plug and waited for my finger to blow off and took the dis cap off. The bug was just passed the #1 tit, and the timing mark on the crank was just passed also. That tells me that its rite. Rite? I also looked at my fuel pressure and it was on 20 then went down to 1 after sitting for a minute.
although I doubt it. Is my timing off?
Never had a pressure gauge on a fuel system but it seems like the pressure should stay constant even when you shut the car off?
Also. I am using the injectors off the explorer. I had to break the tabs off the stang injector plugs so they would plug in. Maybe its something to do with that?
One more thing. I can think of. If the TPS is off can this be it? Haven't checked that but it should be the same as when I removed it.
I am going to do some running and bring some gas back in a can so if its running out, problem solved, and ill check back then. Thanks for any help guys, this is the biggest project I have done in a long time. Even had to change my steering rack. Im ready to cruse.
