Went tonight... track was pretty slippery/snotty.. lots of street tire import cars... & they didnt VHT once.

1st pass went 1.763, 1/8 - 8.11 @ 85.08, 1/4 - 12.636 @ 108.49.

2ns pass went 1.779, 1/8 - 8.15 @ 85.24, 1/4 - 12.676 @ 108.18.

3rd pass went a 12.60 again, but they didnt give me a timeslip, went 108.something on this one.

4th pass went 1.747, 1/8 - 8.054 @ 85.70, 1/4 - 12.54 @ 109.00.

So the heads and intake gave me 7 MPH and knocked off 6 tenths so far... traction was really crummy, and my rear suspension saved my butt... I know there is more in it, but wanted to get some basic baselines just to see.. before with stock motor.... and now. Highest I could come out was about 4200 RPM, and the slicks were spinning but grabbing all through 1st..

Really need to get some adjustable front struts, [still stock ones and stiff], and get my 1.7 RRs put on.. Found 1 spark plug wire boot was leaning on the one primary of the equal length header and had a huge burn & all cracked..... Sure thats not helping either. Never tried playing with F/P or timing much.. F/P was at 42PSI and timing 15*. Maybe try a 70mm T body..

I'm fairly happy so far.. if I can get it to trap 110, and cut some decent 1.6 60s it should go low 12s consistently..

This car..... never ceases to amaze me... my buddies 300000 KM 86 GT, basically stock as it gets, with 3.73 gears and 26x10.50 ET Streets, and still orig, E6 heads. Added a ram air, and some front T Bird skinnies w/ Moroso Drag fronts today.. Ran:
1.81, 13.47 @ 100.68,
1.82, 13.33 @ 100.88,
1.82, 13.29 @ 101.29,
1.88, 13.39 @ 99.18,
1.85, 13.43 @ 102.43.

Wants to see if he can get the E6s in the 12s for something to do...

Good times. Just reminds me I need slicks, I have the same MPH in the 1/8th but I am running 8.5's with 1.9 60's.

Nice times. Very impressive for the stock cam. Nice sleeper I'd pull the upper and port match the inlet to 75mm and run a 75mm TB since your planning on swapping tb's. I cant wait for my accufab 75mm to arrive!! I have an 80mm pro m mass air for 24's for sale if your interested in swapping to a bigger maf.

Thanks,

Mike, I will probably just get a 70mm T body... I worry I could over do it with 75mm... seeing as how stock cam is still what i'm using and want to [have a goal..] I'll probably stay with this MAF too as I can't see it needing an 80mm...

Wonder who makes the best [or the one everyone likes best] 70 mm T body?

Basically.. I want to get into the 11.90s with the completely stock 100000 mile shortblock.. N/A...

I have some ideas over the winter:
4.10s [4.30s... be too much gear on 26" tire you think?], better posi unit & axles and a rear cover/girdle while im in there, 70mm TB, Flaming River manual rack, 10" slick on a light wheel [instead of 8.5"s on 10 holes], adj front struts, and my 1.7 RRs installed... might do a tubular K member $$ permitting..... I think that will get me there.. if not.. damn close.

Any other ideas you guys can think of with out a cam change that will add a few HP here and there..

Funny I still have the nitrous kit here too, new, not installed.. suppose I could slap it on and be well in the 11s but wanna try and do 11.90s / even 12.00s N/A with the stock cam...
THEN I plan to bolt on the spray.. with another goal..

75mm isn't over doing it, dont't believe the internet hype. If you do use 75mm, you will have to port the inlet with a dremel so keep that in mind.

I think 410's are your best bet. 430 would be too much since your planning on spraying and IMO itll rev a bit too high on the highway. I'd like to do 410's along with a holley intake or an rpm 2 intake with a new custom grind cam from jay allen

I know cam/intake/1.6RR change would be big gains....

But...

I wasn't telling you to change your cam or intake. That was me who wants to change that Intake and rr's arent part of a shortblock fwiw. I think the 75mm TB and 410's will help you. Longtube headers will help also!
