Finally got the 67 shelby style hood on

Nice Job - Looks HOT... that is my favorite hood. Not too much, just enough.

I'm right there with ya.

I bought the hood from Branda and it was the maroon gel coated version... they mentioned it was a bit better fit. I do not know the mfg... but I could ask.

As for fitting... the sides were a bit long and had to be slowly worked to get good hood/fender gaps. Initially, there was probably 1/8" overlap of the fenders, and I just blocked them down. The rest of the hood required no work, just the openings of the scoop.

The only part that does not fit great is the back of the hood and its about 1/4" too high where it meets the cowl, but I figure with some more hinge alignments, I probably had get that down some.

Overall, I liked the fit and it was relatively easy. The trunk required NO fitting (because I spent the extra TON of money for the vacuum formed piece) but I feel it was worth it... just bolt and go.

Lastly, I used original tooling fenders, so that might also account for the proper hood gap and contour.

Oh one more thing... those are even repop fender extensions. The fit was good, but finish left things to be desired. I mention the grinder marks, etc in the cardomain information... but overall, I was pleased with the repop extensions.
