finally! new exhaust

Not too sure about those headers but I know a few people who absolutely love their Bassani cat-backs. As for exhaust installation that's kinda a live and learn thing. If your shorties are just straight-up shorties than it should be pretty easy to fit them in there. If there equal-lengths then it's gonna be a different story. Meaning they're gonna be a tight fit so you're gonna have to start taking crap out of the engine bay to make room for them to be installed. As for the mid-pipe and mufflers. Piece of cake. They usually just bolt right up to each other with ease. Since they're both Bassani should be no prob. Thing you gotta keep in mind is exhaust leaks. If your header gasket is paper, you might as well throw them away now a drop a few dollars on some metal ones. People here will go both ways on either copper gaskets or Felpro gaskets. I myself have the Felpro's. Also you might wanna consider some locking bolts. Between the metal gaskets and the locking bolts your headers should be good as far as detering exhaust leaks. The joint between the header and the midpipe is another tight spot. Gonna be awkward trying to tighten those bolts down but it can be done. After you get it all installed, depending on how long you with be keeping this exhaust set up, I would prolly do some spot welding to seal up any remaining exhaust leaks. I myself and people that regularly switch out exhaust components, wouldn't weld them because the ease of removal would be sacrificed. Ok I think I'm done now Hope you got some idea now

I usually purchase everything I can from Summit but they don't carry the 1415's in stock. Go to http://shop.store.yahoo.com/gofast/headexgas1.html and scroll 1/3 of the way down the page until you see FEL-1415. Those are the gaskets.

Is this a daily driver in the city? Do you occasionally go on trips with this car? Worried about gas mileage? In this day in age prolly not- $30.00 in gas to 200 miles and $30.00 to 300 miles still sucks in my book either way cuz I'll still be spending a butt load in gas on my fill-up. i say 4.10s for autos; 3.73s is a good all around gear for manuals.

The difference in cruising rpms are 2655rpms vs. 2919rpms at 80mph. 3.73s and 4.10s, respectively. 300rpms...I know which I would take, just wish I would have been smarter before.
