I pit a T-bird/Cougar fan on mine (2-speed) with the dccontrol, but my shroud covers the radiator from top to bottom. I cut slits in the bottom of the shroud for the stock lower clips and pop-riveted aluminum "L" brakets on the upper shroud which bolt right up to the stock upper mounts! Clearance on each side of the shroud is only a couple of inches - much better fit than what I see here. Maybe I should takes some pics.
The fan automatically comes on with the A/C and even runs for a few seconds after the engine is shut off (if warm enough to require it). I have a monitor light inside the car to re-assure me the fan is running (very intertaining when it free-wheels and makes the light glow depending on speed I'm running). As for cooling, the car is running a lot cooler than it was before. Mainly, it allows me to stay ahead of the heat curve before it builds up. When I upgrade to 3G alt. I will go for the high speed position on the fan. I plan to take sheet metal and block off air gaps around the fan for better draw as well since the shroud really doesn't fit the shape of the 5.0 radiator that well.
Nice. I pretty much have the same setup except the ground for my relay goes to a temp switch that cuts the fan on at 190 degs and off at 170. You can see my fan relay pic at my sig link. I used two relays too.

this may sound like a dumb question... on the taurus fan, which wire is which? There are four wires. I will make an asumtion that both circuits are wired in series from the factory, and the controller will ground out the connection between the two of them to change the mode between high speed and low speed. Is that correct?
Which circuit is high?
Which circuit is low?
Is it necessary that both be wired in series to achive highspeed mode? Or is it the other way around?
i am going to use a t-bird/couger fan(same shroud as mark 8,but lower amp motor).i used a inductive clamp type and registered 21 amps on low,with about 28 amps on startup,and about 26 on high,with about 40 on startup.but that is still less draw than mark 8 would be.
