Had a fun day with my 65 Coupe and my dads 67 Shelby. Got the engine in the Shelby at around 4pm Friday, tuned a tad and went racing Sat. Anyhows, he ran some 8" Slicks, mine are the DOT Drag Tires 275/40/17's. I had a slight issue with my differential that I didn't know about, its broken. lol Peg leg off the line ever run, oh well. Still some good times and I won all but one race. Actually was some extremely close races, except for the one run he messed up, the largest win diff was .1633 and the closest was .0804.

Anyhow, I gotta get my rearend fixed some I can get my 60's better, its killing my ET.

Worst run for me was
R/T .120
60' 2.050
330 5.233
1/8 7.817
MPH 95.23
1000 10.062
1/4 11.969
MPH 118.24

Best run was
R/T .088
60' 1.962
330 5.112
1/8 7.689
MPH 95.65
1000 9.929
1/4 11.836
MPH 118.14

The Shelby had a best time of 11.800 at 118.30.

Anyhows, next time hopefully I can shave about .4-.5 seconds off with a good diff and 4.56's instead of the 3.89's I'm running. A looser converter would help also but dunno if its worth it since I dont really drag race that much. Maybe gain a few tenths, but I dont think I'm going to get to a 10.99 without a little more power. Great fun anyways. I got some video of the two cars Ill rip here soon and get online.

well, the mph in the 1/8 is enough to do 7.20s. But you would have to whittle that 60ft down to mid-high 1.6s.

Both 60fts are pretty bad considering the types of tires involved, probably some suspension tuning needed and possibly a better track surface.

1.9 60fts on slicks is not good.

At any rate, looks like a very stout setup.

I think you missed the part that my diff was screwed so it was only putting power to one wheel. lol I'm in the process of putting in a detriot locker to fix that issue. The one run I let off a tad you could feel the tires hook, the rest the runs I just stood on it and let it burn in first gear, just couldn't get traction with one tire.

I should add, Ive ran this same suspension setup with my old blower motor and pulled 1.7's with a 12.56et so I know it can at least do that. Hopefully things go right and I can update these times Friday.

You should be able to get low to mid 1.6's I would think.

Got the video up.

Also got the detroit locker in with the 4.56's (taking out the 3.89's) and hopefully Ill get the axles ordered Monday. (mine were stock 28's, this is a 31 setup)
Also, getting some 6 cyl springs and drag shocks since I'm running 620 1" drops right now. Guess Ill see if I'm lucky and get this all done by Friday for the night drags.

nope, he kept forgetting to leave on the transbrake. Dunno, never ran it, he did have a couple good 60's in the 1.7's though. He was shifting way to early each run, but its a stock shifter, stock tach no shift light and that engine needs to be shifted at around 7800-7900. I have no idea what he was actually shifting at, but we did have the rev limiter set to 7600 since we just got the motor in and didnt really feel the need to break it.

I also doubt he will take it out again anyways. Its not what that car is intended for with him, friday when the Camaro goes out is a different story, but thats a Chevy and a waste of time at this place.
