Finishing up Battery relocation, Is the starter solenoid on the starter?

I am finishing up my battery relocation and just want to confirm if the starter solenoid is located right on the starter itself. Is this correct?

Also, when the relocation is complete, Can I remove any of the old wiring stuff to and from the alternator or starter? Or does everything else remain?

I have pics to share when finished. (if i ever get done )

On my relocation I ran a wire straight from the battery in the trunk directly to the starter. Then for the positive wire going to the batters (has two wires, one to the alt, other to the fuse box) I took the smaller one off (the one from the battery to the fuse box) and just moved the bigger one coming from the alt to the battery over to the fuse box.
