Time again to beat the royal poop out of COBRASK8!!!:nice:

Going up to Pocono Raceway with two other guys from my SAAC region, both newbies, but wanting to try. One is running a bone stock 92, and the other is running a modified 94.

I upped the brakes to HAWK HP-S pads, got the carb sorted, and even fixed the wipers in case it rains.

I'll post pics after the thrashing! If it survives, this, June at VIR and August at Watkins Glen. BIG-TIME beating!

That was fun!

A mixed day, the Cobra was back to being it's usual temperamental self. The starter motor died first thing, so I had to roll start in the pits. I spun off in the first session, and was dead off-track, and had to be pulled in by track truck. My overheating problems returned, so that was a constant problem. It also blew off a heater hose in my third session, hot anti-freeze all over my legs.

BUT, when it ran, it was wild! New HAWK HP-S pads were fabulous, car has more than enough brake now! Motor was very strong, still some carb stumbling whan turning, but it ran like gonzo when I was on it. By the end of the day, I was banging the motor on the rev limiter, drifting the car though the tighter infield corners, and just having a ball beating it! Felt good to run the whole last session, got a good stretch of open track, and worked on my technique, re-finding my smoothness, as things happen VERY quickly in that car.

I am waiting to get on-track pics, and will post them when I get them. In the mean time, here is COBRASK8 in track dress, very different than your typical Cobra!

for PA titling, it needs defrost. I got a very small unit from Southern Rods, it fits completely behind the dash.

I should have by-passed it before I hit the track!

Oh, okay, that makes sense. Boy I have not been through the Poconos since I drove through there on my way to buy my 64-1/2.
