That is insane. So bascially these brakes wouldn't work well with my Pony wheels?

mavmavv, I agree. I've never been into Covettes but I'm liking the c6 and especially the C6 Z06 (I also like the FRC C5s). Personally I prefer the C6 Z06's more understated looks over this ZR1 but there is no question which car I would rather have: the one with the factory s/c.

my hats off for chevy. the corvette imo is one of the few gm cars that get better and raises the bar at almost every oppourtunity. This car will be insane pretty much untouchable for a stock h/c/i s/c 5.0. it should run within a few tenths of a 1/4 mile as the bugatti veryon but at a tenth of the price! And even though i love the ford gt this is one vette that has got it beat bad. I wonder what other upgrades are coming to this model? im sure this will whoop the new gt-r's lap time at nuremberg!

Anyone else notice the little side vent (brake cooling) on the quarter panel.... looks a little like a certain Ford product many of us like.

They have had a similar brake cooling design on some of their vettes for a while

And even though i love the ford gt this is one vette that has got it beat bad.

Haha. They accomplished that a couple years ago with the C6 Z06 for half the price. They're just throwing salt in the wound now, and it'll still be cheaper than the GT.

The damn brakes are the size of my ****ing wheels. God damn.

I'm new to the forums..and I just got to say I didn't expect the respect for the Vette...I'm an LS1 guy that grew up around Chevys...and fords and I always have in the back of my mind that the lsx engines are a product of the roller 5.0.

i'm a blue oval guy but I've liked the vettes since the c5's came out...I worked at a chevy dealership an a vette is the only thing they build i'd consider buying. I drove many c4's including the grand sports, an they were nothing compared to the c6 an up cars.

Im not a fan of the hood...but the rest of the car is simply amazing. The blue looks chitty in my opinion...i cant wait to see it in RED!

Oh an fyi I just read in auto week today that they did revive the ZR1 package designator for the new top dog vette. I'm afraid the new c.a.f.e. standard of 35 is going to make it hard for V8 cars to be priced in the mainstream range.
