As a subscriber to 5.0 Mustang & Super Fords magazine, I have seen several recent articles on Mach1 engine bolt ons that have made impressive performance gains. One thing that stands out in all three cases is the Dyno numbers indicate a prominent flat spot in the torque curve for the stock setup in the 2400 to 3200 rpm range upon which torque starts climbing again until it maxes out around 4500. I read this car was tuned (as opposed to the earlier Cobras) to pull stronger in the low rpm range but this herky-jerky torque curve leaves me wondering whether it is really much improved. Is this typical of the 4.6 liter Mustangs? I definately feel the surge in my Mach after 3000. Just a lot different from my old '88 5.0. Any thoughts?
