Ok what to do. The owner before me did allot of floor board work and who knows what else under the car. The problem is it’s a piss poor job. The work that was done on the floor probably is not more then 3 years old .

The welding is not smooth at all with allot of splatters and even small peaces of wire hanging from the welds. He used allot of under coating and seam sealer to cover it up and in some places its just bare.

The wheel wells look like there is some funky stuff under that under coating also.

Now do I strip off all the under coating to see what I have. Then get my grinder out and try to clean it up replacing only what I have to or do I rip it all out and start again.

Sheet metal is cheap time is the factor here. I think what ever I do I will save this project for next winter.

I think your only choice is to grind it bare and see what you've got. If there are bare spots, as you say, they obviously didn't do a proper job. Be sure to wear safety glasses or goggles when your under there grinding!
