Ok, so my driver-side seat leans bad to toward the door.

After reading http://mustang.zeroentity.com/howto_artcls/howto_glean.html

I was thinking it was caused by a broken/bent seat frame like shown in that page.

Well after taking the seat apart and not finding any breaks/bends, I took a look at the underside of the car with a flashlight and although this car is totally rust free, there is a small crack in the floorpan near the rear outer seat anchor.

I saw this online so I ordered one:

Which I guess was standard on the polilce mustangs and so I ordered one ($40 with shipping.)

Well, tonight I was cleaning the carpet and took off the trim and pulled it up.

Looks like I already have that piece That support is there rivoted in place and it looks like it was there from the factory considering my car has the factory undercoating and I don't see any marks anywhere.

WTF, my car is a hatch and not a SSP car. Are those standard? I thougth I was buying a piece that was not standard.

FYI I have a set of MM XL subframes on order but I can't afford the price shops around here want to weld them for another few months.

There was some hatch ssp cars.

I would say someone installed it.

Do you have a 160mph speedometer.

hmm

Really? I thought all SSP cars were notches.

The car does have a ford racing 140 or 160 speedo in it (can't remember which one, but I know it says ford racing.)

My alternator doesn't look like a 3G either.

Anyway, anyone want to buy a floor pan reinforcement plate?

There were never any SSP hatchback Mustangs. The CHP tested a few hatches (didn't like them) and a couple agencies ran them (very few), but they were regular production cars that did not have the special service package.

The high-output alternator was an available option for the special service package. Not all agencies ordered them, however.

TRY TO READ THIS!

Reputedly, over 15,000 Mustangs were produced with the SSP option. All SSP cars, except for 5 1982 hatchback vehicles produced for CHP, were coupe or 'notchback' style cars; no GT or convertibles body style for regular production on these. Agencies could pick and choose many of the items they wanted

PM

PM me for payment details if you are interested in buying this from me.

I paid $30 for the part + $10 shipping from PPI so my total was $40.

I am still waiting for this thing to get here, but when it does get delivered I can either pay shipping back to PPI and get a refund less a 20% restocking fee (about $8 to ship and then I get $24 back so I am really getting about $16 back of my $40 purchase)

OR

I will sell it to someone here for $30 shipped. I pay about $8 to ship it to you so I net about $22 back.

Subframes are on order, I just need some cash to pay for the install...
