Makes me want to swap to an h-pipe with 2 chamber flows.

I'd personally stay away from having a shop fab up an h-pipe unless they're doing it using mandrel bent tubing. Otherwise they'll compression bend it, and have restrictions at every bend, kinda defeating the purpose of getting it in the first place. I have a bastard exhaust to an extent, with a MAC O/R X pipe, MAC cat back (only the flow tubes and tailpipes), with 2 chamber flowmaster mufflers. Sounds good to me. :nice: If I had it to do over again, I would've spent the extra money and gotten polished stainless tailpipes instead of the chrome ones, as they're rusted to death. An SOS pad on them several times a year helped for a while, but now they're all pitted and just need replacement. The mufflers are only lightly rusted, except for the scrape on one where I ran something over and took the silver paint off. I'd say go for the flowmasters, but if you wanna be LOUD, get single chamber dynomax race mufflers! :D

Lets get back on topic here...i didnt know that most off road h's came in pieces...it i tighen the bolts like they should be, will it be ok?? And WHERE CAN I BUY A FLOWMASTER CAT-BACK?? I cant find very many dealers that feature an american thunder catback for a 94-95. ALSO, i have a guy in town that is awesome with exhaust, he has alumanized steel, and benders and such, and could fab up me an exhaust. Would this be the route to go? Just get new tips, and mufflers welded in my stock exhaust with a custom made H-pipe or something? if i take out the cats, and weld in pipe, will it be any different than a 2.5 pipeing, with 2.25???

You can buy a catback at SUMMIT Racing. Here's the direct LINK for you directly to the catback.

That one has 2 1/2 catback W/stainless steel tips. This is the American Thunder catback.

Here's a directLINK to that catback on Flowmaster's website.

You have the choice to not have the stainless tips but I highly recommand you get them.

Stangfreak that sounds great man.. I want exhaust pretty bad.. but Ima have to wait for christmas.. the only thing I'm worried about rather than it sounding crappy is sounding to loud and droning.. I don't want to have to blow my speakers on a monthly basis to hear my mp3s.. I dont want to get yelled at by the neighbors.. too much ;).. and I wanna be able to hear my gf on dates lol .. getting gains from it isn't too big a priority for me..

I'll probably end up going with just the catback for now.. seeing how that sounds.. whether or not its loud enough, then go H / X pipe.. I know if I end up getting a new pipe it'll be a waste of $ but .. probably what I'll do

^seems like a good site

I got my American Thunder cat-back from Jegs. Very fast delivery, and no complaints. They have the H pipe too (for 94-95), but I haven't added that yet.

Been running the set for 3 months now and no rust.

if your looking for the loudest meanest exhaust look no further than a Bassani mid to one chamber flows. I know everyone is gonna say you cant use chambered muffs with an x but i learned to get past the drone. This was in my 96 cobra. Right now on my 95 i have bbk longtubes a shorty h and original 40 flows which is meaner than hell at WOT but not my kind of sound i'm an x freak. My x pipe should be here next week to replace the h. Anyone want a slightly used shorty H?

If you could post a video when you get your x-pipe on that would be great. :nice:

I've got your typical mac exhaust and it sounds good and was fairly cheap. No rust that I've seen, had the mufflers for about 3 years, h about 1 year.. only had the headers for about 3 months, but I doubt they'll rust...

I have had my flowmasters for about 6 months now and over a summer, the welds that the hangers are attached to are starting to rust. Keep in mind I have stainless steel tips and the welds that hold the actual stainless tips to the hangers are rusting... Bought the system for $250 new. American thunder Stainless steel 2.5" tips.

I'm pretty sure i'm sold on an Off-Road H and an American Thunder cat-back. I'll probably install it myself, with the help of my dad, because there arent any exhaust shops that will mess with the cats around here. If i have enough money when christmas comes around, i might get an off-road X pipe. Or keep the the off road H with shorty headers.
