Hey does anyone know much about flowtech headers? The reason i ask is because they are only 240$ for longtubes and if i wrapped them in thermal wrap i think they might work out pretty well. What do you guys think?

Flowtech has a similar design as Hooker, but not the same quality. You can do tranny work, without the removal of the passenger side header, which is a big plus.

Get ceramic coated headers, and don't use exhaust wrap. That will seal in moisture, and cause rust.

I say use em till they "quit working"; then buy another set and you've still not matched the price of SLP's or heck, even BBK's haha. Btw, MAC's newest ceramic coated stuff is pretty good according to my local shop, and I thought the set the had on display was pretty good, close/equal to the BBK headers.

I had a set of Flowtech headers on my '68 for a long time and they worked just fine until I swapped them for more expensive JBA ceramic coated headers and lost 5 horsepower and 3 ft.lbs/torque.

Go figure. The JBAs definitely look better and are much quieter (as far as "exhaust leaks" go).

Do the clutch first then! Spec stg 3, Mcleod Stg 3, etc. Something you won't wear out too fast.

not sure though, i need a professional opinion on my clutch i think i may find someone to drive it and tell me what they think, it may just need to be adjusted but it never wants to grab until its all the way out and its pretty stiff. I may just have an aftermarket clutch and not know it....

Where would moisture come from in the first place though?

I head part of the header needs to be welded. But other than that its basically same as hooker.
