FML whats wrong with my trans????

ok so i swapped out a 01 gt 4.6 into my 96 gt keep all my original intake and top stuff pretty much swapped from valve covers to oil pan every thing runs good but when i put the auto trans in to gear nothing i put 6.5 qts in it and nothing i didnt pull pan and i topped off torque converter i have a 4r70w what to do????

Was the converter properly seated before you installed the trans? Did the input shaft splines and the pump teeth both engage properly?

Isn't the fluid capacity something like 12 quarts? I could have sworn it was, and that could definitely be your problem if you're low on fluid.

I was going to say something about fluid too. Most automatics seem to take at LEAST 8-10qts. Let the car idle for a while, top it off and try going through the gears again. It takes a while to get oil through the whole system. The converter, trans cooler and cooling lines can hold a lot of oil.
