Not the regular run of the mill focus but the svt focus. I guess you could say its the cobra of the focus'.

According to Kenne Bell, the SVT pump outflows even a stock Terminator Cobra setup. A stock Mustang GT pump flows, according to their tests, 115lph at 60psi and 13.0V. A Terminator pump flows 145lph and an SVT Focus pump flows 185lph. And at 40psi, a Cobra pump will flow 167lph versus the SVT Focus' 217lph.

One would only benefit from such a pump if one's fuel demand is taxing the current pump. If you get a blower, for instance, a stock Mustang GT pump would be hard pressed to keep up with the demands of even a 1.7L twinscrew at 9-pounds. Add a BAP (boost a pump) and you get up to ~200lph flow from the stock pump but that's it. If you need more power, you need more fuel than even that can flow so you consider a Cobra setup or an SVT Focus. With the Focus pump you might not even need a BAP.

On a stock-ish car, there would be no benefit. I'm not even sure of the SVT pump will work on a 97 unless you've converted to a return-less system and have a compatible FPDM and PCM. You might need to look at more "conventional" high flow pumps like the trusty Walbro 255lph.
