Hi guys..

My foglight switch melted for some reason!..Well not the switch itself the connector to the switch from the back. My question is why? why did it melt! ..When I bought my foglight bulbs I got the 100watts bulb. I know that more then stock. Also The fuse kept on blowing so I replaced it with a 25 fuse instead of the original 10 fuse. Could that be a reason why it melted? Any help would be appreciated. I wanna wire up my foglight as soon a possible but I wanna know if it will happen again. Thanks :)

The foglight/headlight wiring that Ford uses has always had problems tolerating higher wattage bulbs. There are stories of Mustang owners setting their car on fire with their bulb choices! Without upgrading the entire lighting electrical system, you're going to have to switch to lower wattage bulbs.

its like putting 20 lbs of boost on a stock engine, itll take it for a bit but eventualy it will go out. the stock wiring ford put in there can only take so much juice. if u want to keep those higher wattage lights do the fog light fix, this way all the power for ur fog lights come straight from the battery with a thicker wire.
