How much are you going to drive it with the short belt? I'm curious to see how well the belt will stay on with three smooth idler pullies at the top -- nothing with groves to hold it steady...

Not at all...she is sitting in my garage...it was making some fierce poping noises in the engine when I came back from driving to the store....

Maybe I should lean her up a bit...she is tuned diablo like performance right now...prob getting some pre-det in the cylinders...help anyone.

I need to drive her to Gresham and I don't want to blow anything up.

Have you tried those new craftsman bits that take that kind of stuff out? Dunno what they call it but looks like a reverse drill bit. Check it out, or you could also check a KB, whipple, procharger, turbo, etc...

Thoes are called left hand drill bits they go the opposite direction so it takes out screws and bolts.

You might want to try LOC Lightning Owners Club classifieds.

Sorry to hear about your problem. I hope you get it worked out.

You guys don't understand, the dang thing moves around in there but it is now wider at the back of the threads than it is at the front. Think of a loose rivet. You can turn it all you want but it is still not coming out through that hole. Only way would be to drill it out completely but that would destroy the threads in the shaft. Then you would have to retap the threads to a size bigger than what the pulley install tool needs to grip on so then you would have make a custom bolt for the pulley install tool or retap the tool for the same size bolt... Yes you can buy just a snout off an Eaton but you have to partially remove the Eaton to remove the snout so if you are going to pay for labor to do that you might as well switch to a ported blower... That's the justification we used for his wife anyways...

Actualy these are a little different a easyout you drill frist then put the easy out in and turn. With a left hand drill bit you just drill it and it is suppose to come out. The left handed thread of the drill bit makes it come out.

If you had it on a diecent drill press or mill you could easily drill inside the threads, and then run a tap through to clean out the leftover bits, this is easy work for a machine shop.

But yea, if he's allready got new/better bits on the way that's even better in my book. You should donate that old useless broken one that can't possibly be repaired to me

I'm with Jeff. If it was a standard swap, I'd say fix the snout. But if you are upgrading, then heck ya, chuck it!
