For those with a Shaker Hood.....

I just ordered a CDC Shaker hood for my 06 GT and was wondering if anyone cut the hole in the hood themselves. If so, any suggestions on what tool to use nd any useful advice to make it go smoothly would be greatly appreciated!

Its an easy install- just make sure you use a good jigsaw with a brand name, hi quality blade like DeWalt, etc.

Thanks for the info! Is the 06 hood steel as the article stated? Need to determine what blade to use to cut the hole!

Get a name brand blade with anywhere from 28 to 32 tpi- the higher the tpi, the better.

There is really no power gain with the Shaker setup; its mainly cosmetic.

i am pretty sure the hood is still aluminum for 06, but i have never inspected one. to find out, get a magnet and see if it sticks to the hood. if not, then it is not steel.
