I was on MMR's web site and I came across this "FORD 4.6L V8 VICTOR JR. 4.6L SOHC" and they show a price $399!:jaw: What do you guys think or have you not see the price yet on this new intake? I'm hoping its out now to buy b/c thats the best damn deal for a metal intake.
heres the unit:

EFI (Up to 7500 rpm) Victor Jr. 4.6L SOHC EFI is based on the Victor Jr. 4.6L SOHC manifold #2838. This new EFI manifold allows you to convert a 1999-2004 SOHC Modular 4.6L Ford engine for use with a standard flange competition style throttle body or elbow. Features stock injector locations.

I think it will be with short runners for turbo/blown engines or maybe high revving n/a engines. Plus you can use your stock fuel rails with it, you dont have to use a reversed alternator like the trickflow and it doesnt cost 600-1200 bucks. I think it will make some good power.

didn't see that one yet:nice:

seems like a major improvement for a s/c'd or turbo car. good to see both TrickFlow and Edelbrock finally make intakes for our cars (better late than never i guess)

Looks nice - says it fits "standard flange competition style throttle body or elbow" - which I take to mean NOT the standard plenum? If this fits standard plenum style that would be sweet, or some aftermarket plenum that has IAC provision atleast...

there are a few options when it comes to the new elbow. Theres the EFI Spyder "Power Elbow" http://www.coasthigh.com/Fuel%20Injection/power_elbow.htm
And theres the sullivan http://www.sullivanperformance.com/YVS450/products/intakemanifold/tbadapter.htm
Both are great for this application:nice:

I don't think this manifold is going to work for EFI without time and modifications. Don't forget that a plenum holds the cruise control bracket, IAC valve, EGR, and anything else I forgot. It looks like a plenum might bolt up to the manifold but it might require porting out the square for an oval and possibly getting one of the cheap plenum spacer to cover up the hole between the manifold and plenum

IF you click on the links above you will see the new plenum hats that have all of places for the egr and IAC built onto it. Click on the sullivan link. And no the stock plenum will not bolt up to this setup. The whole point of this intake is to convert fuel injection to carburetor, But with the short runners it would be great for a very high revving n/a engine or even better for boost applications. You all so could put a new throttle body to sit right on the new opening like a carburetor.
