Does anyone have the ford racing intake and if so how do you like it? I'm sorta leaning that way and get the package that has the intake and mufflers plus tune.

Not powerful or upgradeable enough. You're better off getting a different Cold air kit and tune and JBA equal length headers, much more power.

Has anyone had problems with the dealer and after market, non Ford intakes and tuners? How difficult is it for the average driver to change the tune for "dealer work" if needed? I have never dealt with tuners and the such.

If you can use a screwdriver and push a couple of buttons in sequence then there is no problem at all.

Changing intakes and using a handheld tuner is as easy as that.

Takes but a few minutes to go from stock to mod and viceversa.

No problem there at all for install then. Is there any evidence in the computer of using the tuner once you go back to stock?

some have said that you will need to disconnect the battery for a while to erase the trace of the tune. ill ask mike and see what he can actually see at the dealer level.

Ford Racing Intake posted the same numbers as a JLT II on the dynojet. I was there to witness this it was performed on a lightly modded 06 GT 5spd. No gain with the JLT Intake. I'm sure others will say otherwise but I was there to witness it

As long as you erase the tune before you come in we can't see it at the dealer level.. The time you need to worry is if you blow your motor then a FSE may be sent down and if there is a tune in there they can see that.

It's rumored that they can see erased tunes but I am not sure of that, from what I have seen they look for signs of removed mods.

Yeah, a pristine stock airbox and intake tube in a dusty engine bay would be suspect I guess

So kkdougboy, from what you wittnessed, the ford intake performed as good as the rest? I was thinking about the ford intake with the steeda intake tube. Lets face it guy's, a cone filter is a cone filter, any real difference would have to be in the tube. As far as the ford intake, it's a cone filter with heatsheild and tune, throw on a steeda tube and it should perform as well as the rest, at least in therory.
