Take some dental floss or fishing line and use this to "scrape" the emblems off. Use a back and forth or sawing motion. Should only take 5 mins, and I used bug and tar remover to get the rest of the glue off. I got this advice from someone on here when installing my panel a few weeks ago. Worked well. You can also try wd-40 to get the remaining glue off, but it did not work too well for me. Before installing the panel make sure you wash the trunk area with car wash, and then prep the area with rubbing alcohol to get the tape to stick well. Test fit the panels a few times before you remove the backing on the double sided tape becuase once that tape touches the trunk its stuck, there is no second chance to get it to fit right. Make sure it is positioned correctly. Just some advice from my install...

Can I remove the FORD emblem (shave it), or are there holes in the sheetmetal behind it? I am not putting in a panel

Use a hair dryer. It will heat the glue and the dental floss will cut right through it

There ARE holes behind the FORD emblem on the rear of the car. There are NO holes behind the GT emblem.

I meant to say, there are holes behind the SIDE GT emblems and the Ford emblem. There are NO holes behind the GT emblem on the back of the car.
