I have one of the new boss 302 kit blocks, Does anyone have experience fitting AFR heads on this block? These blocks have added steam holes and i am wondering if these are just transfered and drilled into the AFR heads?

I want to know as well. Did you assemble that short block yet? If so how much did it cost you machining wise to finish it out? I wanted to get one but wound up buying the X302b crate instead. I am putting my hellion kit on it.

It will cost me about $550.00 thats for honing to correct bore, decking it, line boring mains. putting the crank and rods and piston in it to make sure i end up with the right compression for 58cc Afr 165 heads. Balancing pistons rods crank flywheel clutch and damper. I am sticking with the stock bore as thats what came with the kit.

Not bad at all. I thought it would cost more. I looked up the rods and eagle list them at 500hp, but I talked to the tech at ford and he said that was a continunous use number and that he said good for around 700 for short burst.? So we shall see. Sorry to mess up your thread. What about those steam holes? I want to know, plan on switching to AFRs my self for the deck thickness.
