anybody remove the metal support in the dash?? i know there are some mounting points there but i was thinking i could cut out some of the piece where there are no mounting points to lighten is up a bit. just seems a little heavy for a dash to me.



going to be a drag only car so if the dash is a little flimsy and not as stiff than that is fine. just not sure how flimsy it will be

Could always go with a fiberglass unit.

I think it would be more trouble than its worth to start cutting away the support bracket.

that's a nice piece, but not sure i wanna put that kind of money into it

yeah, that's what i'm thinking. I just wanted to see if anyone had done it

I am changing dashes now, it is really not heavy? I don't see how you could save much by trimming pieces. You will save a lot more by ditching the heat box but I am sure you've done that. You could ditch it all together and make mounting tabs?
